Cilip Executive Briefings on RDA
March 25, 2010
A really quick post to say thank you to everyone who came along to the Executive Briefing on RDA on Tuesday – speakers and delegates alike.
Not since the move from UKMARC to MARC21 have I been in such an electric meeting. It was brilliant and inspiring to be in a room with 59 other cataloguers and heads of service all interested in the new cataloguing standard and how it will differ from AACR2.
I’ll post more about the talks themselves next week, after the second edition of the event. This one is just about bigging up the cataloguing community in the UK (again).
Thanks to Alison Felstead for tweeting a little about us. Next Tuesday, at the Bloomsbury Hotel, I’ll try to tweet a bit myself (as I’ve heard the presentations already I should manage to chair and tweet simultaneously) and will make sure people know that tweeting is encouraged at #RDA10.
Thanks also to the 90% delegates who rated the event good to excellent. It simply could not have been so without the enthusiastic participation of everyone who came.
Only5 sleeps till the next one … and I can’t wait.

Anne–glad to hear that it went well.
